I have been continually asked how long I have been in Korea by new teachers and others. 1 years, 7 months. Almost 2 years. In that time I have mostly done things I would have done back in the states. In my own opinion, I am perfectly fine with this. However, I have this nagging suspicion that I should be more…outgoing. I have only seen four cities in Korea and have not participated in as many uniquely Korean experiences as I could have. Other’s experiences always sound exciting and new. Now that I am not teaching conversation classes at night, at the very least I can focus on learning more Korean.
When I reflect on my time here I can’t help but think of that song “Dare” by the Gorillaz. So many similarities. Cartoon school girl telling you to “Press it on you” while an inebriated Englishman chimes in off tune. At least the live version anyway.
